What does PBAW sell?
Premium Bespoke AutoWorks specialises in custom steering wheels. Our core offer is available three ways: Build Your Own (fully configurable), Made to Order (proven designs rebuilt fresh), and In Stock (ready to ship). What's the difference between Build Your Own, Made to Order, and In Stock?
Three ways to buy a PBAW wheel, all built to the same standard. Build Your Own is fully bespoke — 13+ choices across shape, materials, stitching, and extras (10 to 25 working days). Made to Order is a previously built customer design rebuilt fresh for you — you choose only the stitching colour and heated function (10 to 15 working days). In Stock wheels are physically held in our UK facility and ship in 1 to 3 working days — what you see is what you receive, no customisation. See How It Works for the full breakdown.
Will your wheels fit my vehicle?
We currently support 114 chassis codes across all major makes. Most product pages have a vehicle selector at the top that pre-fills your vehicle and confirms compatibility. If your make is listed but your exact model or year isn't, contact us with your make, model, year, and VIN — we add support for new vehicle platforms regularly and can usually confirm fitment before you order.
My vehicle isn't on the configurator — what next?
Our configurator covers our standard platforms. If your vehicle isn't there, contact us with your make, model, year, and VIN. We may be able to add support, build a bespoke wheel as a one-off quote, or confirm the platform isn't currently feasible. Either way, our UK team responds within 24 hours on business days so you have an answer before committing.
Do you need my original wheel sent in?
No. Every PBAW wheel is built specifically for your vehicle on a fresh core sourced by us. Your original wheel stays in your vehicle until your fitter swaps in the new one. During installation, your existing airbag, multi-function buttons, and paddle shifters transfer across to the new wheel.
Will my airbag, buttons, and paddles transfer to the new wheel?
Yes — by default your existing airbag, paddle shifters, multi-function buttons, and trim pieces transfer from your original wheel during installation. These are vehicle-specific OEM parts coded to your car — re-using them is the standard approach and preserves your vehicle's electrical and safety systems. Two exceptions where we supply the parts: (1) you're upgrading an older wheel to a newer model where the original components aren't compatible (we source and supply what's needed); (2) you explicitly request brand-new components (we'll quote and supply). Will my driver-assist features still work after installation?
Most customers experience no issues, but retention of driver-assist features (lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise, hands-free driving, capacitive touch sensors, integrated heating controls) can never be guaranteed. In rare cases, warning lights, error codes, or disabled features may occur after a wheel swap, particularly on vehicles with extensive electronic driver-assist suites. Where this happens, resolution is the customer's responsibility and may involve aftermarket coding or proceeding without the affected feature. By ordering, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
Can I have a heated steering wheel?
Yes — for an additional £149, where supported. Heated function is available when your vehicle was originally equipped with a factory heated wheel, the heating element and wiring are intact, and your make and model is on our supported list (most BMW, Mercedes AMG, Audi, Land Rover, and Range Rover models from 2015+). We cannot retrofit heating to a vehicle that wasn't originally heated. If you're unsure whether your wheel is heated, check your spec sheet or contact us before ordering.
What's the LED display option?
An optional digital readout integrated into the wheel that shows shift points, gear position, and other driving data. From £149, available on most Build Your Own and Made to Order configurations. Reads data from your vehicle via OBDII. Selectable on the configurator where supported. For build-specific questions, contact us.
Will my stitching colour match exactly what I picked?
We aim for the closest possible match within our standard colour range. Exact colour matches from photos or screen-rendered swatches aren't always achievable, since lighting, camera processing, screen calibration, and the difference between digital images and physical leather and thread all affect how colour appears. If colour fidelity is critical to your build (matching an interior shade, for example), contact us before ordering with physical samples or a clear reference and we'll advise on the closest available option. Slight differences in shade should be expected.
My car is manual / has no paddles — can I still order?
Yes. Manual transmissions and non-paddle wheels are fully supported. The configurator handles paddle and no-paddle selection where the option exists, and we'll build accordingly. If your specific setup isn't shown — for example, a vehicle that came with paddles but you'd prefer none, or vice versa — contact us with your vehicle details and we'll confirm what's possible.
Does PBAW install wheels?
No. PBAW is an ecommerce business — wheels ship to your door ready to fit. We don't install wheels ourselves and we don't maintain a list of recommended installers. Installation should be carried out by a qualified auto specialist familiar with airbag-equipped vehicles. We recommend sourcing a fitter with experience in aftermarket modifications and steering wheel work specifically — this kind of swap is more involved than a standard service item. What about accessories — lead times and installation?
Accessories typically ship within a few working days, with timings shown on each product page. Each accessory listing names the chassis codes it fits — check this before ordering, and if you're not sure, contact us with your vehicle details. Some accessories are designed to be installed at home; others need a qualified fitter (interior trim, electrical modules, anything involving bodywork or wiring). Each listing flags the level of work required. The same 14-day return window applies to in-stock accessories as to in-stock wheels.
Orders & Shipping
How long does delivery take?
Lead times depend on what you're ordering. Build Your Own wheels take 10 to 25 working days. Made to Order wheels take 10 to 15 working days. In Stock items ship in 1 to 3 working days. Once built, UK delivery is tracked next day; Europe takes 3 to 5 working days; Rest of world 5 to 10. See How It Works for the full breakdown.
When does my lead time start?
For Build Your Own and Made to Order wheels, the lead time starts when we confirm your final specification in writing, not from the date you place your order. After checkout, we'll be in touch within one business day to confirm your spec, and the build clock starts at that point. If we don't hear back from you, your order goes on Production Hold and we'll send reminders before cancelling per our Failure to Take Delivery and Abandonment policy. In Stock wheels ship within 1 to 3 working days from order; no spec confirmation needed.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — we ship worldwide from the UK. Once your wheel is built, typical delivery times are 3 to 5 working days to Europe and 5 to 10 working days to the rest of the world. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your destination. International orders may be subject to import duties, customs charges, and local taxes — these are the customer's responsibility and aren't included in the order total. Before ordering, please check that the product is eligible for import in your country.
How do I track my order?
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email with a tracking number and a link to track your delivery. If you have not received this, please check your spam folder or contact us.
What happens if I can't take delivery of my wheel?
If your wheel is ready and you can't take delivery immediately, contact us and we'll work with you on a reasonable timeline. Custom wheels left without contact for 6 months from the ready-for-dispatch notification are considered abandoned per our Failure to Take Delivery and Abandonment policy. Deposits in such cases are forfeited and the wheel may be repurposed. See our Terms of Service for full details.
Returns & Payments
What is your returns policy?
In Stock items can be returned within 14 days of delivery, provided they're unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging. The customer is responsible for return shipping. Custom steering wheels (Build Your Own and Made to Order) are built to your specification and cannot be returned or cancelled once production has started. If your wheel arrives damaged or doesn't match the confirmed spec, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we'll resolve it.
Can I cancel after ordering?
It depends on the lane. Build Your Own and Made to Order wheels can be cancelled before production starts — we always confirm your spec in writing first, which gives you a window to make changes or cancel without charge. Once production has started, custom wheels can't be cancelled or refunded. In Stock items can be cancelled any time before dispatch. If you need to cancel, email sales@premiumbespokeautoworks.com as soon as possible with your order number.
My wheel arrived damaged or doesn't match my confirmed spec — what do I do?
Contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos showing the damage or the mismatch, plus your order number. Email sales@premiumbespokeautoworks.com or use the contact form. We resolve damaged or wrong-spec deliveries directly — repair, replacement, or refund depending on the case. Holding onto the original packaging until we've responded helps if the wheel needs to be returned to us.
What's the warranty?
12 months on all custom steering wheels (Build Your Own and Made to Order), from the date of delivery. Every wheel is tested before dispatch. The warranty is voided only if the wheel is modified by the customer or a third party after delivery. If you experience a fault, contact us with photos and a description and we'll arrange next steps.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, and Clearpay. All payments are processed securely.
