At Premium Bespoke AutoWorks, every steering wheel is built to the same standard. The only thing that changes is how much you customise, and how quickly you receive it.
We offer three ways to buy a PBAW steering wheel. Each gives you the same craftsmanship, the same materials, and the same finish. What differs is the level of personalisation and the lead time.

Build Your Own
Your wheel, your way.
A fully bespoke steering wheel built from the ground up to your specification. You make every meaningful decision: the shape, the materials on the top and bottom, the grip type, stitching colours and pattern, extras like an LED display or heated function, and finishing touches like a 12 o’clock band or contoured grips.
When you order a Build Your Own wheel, our UK based team reviews your spec, raises any clarifications, and the build is sent into production at our specialist workshop. Each wheel is then hand assembled by skilled craftspeople using the materials you’ve chosen, quality checked, and shipped to you.
What you decide
When you start a Build Your Own configuration, you’ll work through 13+ choices including:
- Shape round, flat bottom, or contoured
- Top section material Alcantara, leather, perforated leather, or carbon fibre
- Bottom section material same options as the top, mixed for visual contrast
- Grip type OEM style, contoured, or thumb rest
- Stitching colour and pattern single or contrast stitching in any of our standard colours
- 12 o’clock band coloured marker stripe at the top of the wheel, optional
- Carbon fibre finish gloss, matte, or forged carbon
- Trim accents Alcantara wraps, painted inserts, or carbon trim pieces
- LED display optional digital readout for shift points and gear position (from £149)
- Heated function retains your factory heated wheel functionality (£149)

10 to 25 working days from when your order is confirmed. The exact timing depends on material availability and the complexity of your build.

Made to Order
Proven designs. Built fresh for you.
Made to Order wheels are based on previously built customer designs that we’ve made available again. You get the same craftsmanship as a Build Your Own wheel, but with the choices already made, except for stitching colour and whether you want heated function added.
If you’ve seen a wheel in our gallery or on social media that you’d like, there’s a good chance we offer it as a Made to Order product. The shape, materials, finish, grip type, and detailing are all locked to the original spec.
What you choose
- Stitching colour typically 4 to 6 visual swatches per design (e.g. Black, White, Red, Yellow, Blue, BMW M Tri Colour)
- Heated function Yes (£149) or No
That’s it. No other customisation is available on Made to Order wheels.

In Stock
Ready when you are.
In Stock wheels are physically held in our UK facility and ready to ship. These are typically cancelled custom orders, surplus production, or ex demonstration units that have been quality checked and are available at standout prices.
What you see in the photos is exactly what ships. There’s no customisation, no waiting, and no build queue.

- 1 to 3 working day shipping
- A 14 day return window (since you can see exactly what you’re buying)
How it works
In Stock listings come and go as inventory flexes. If a wheel is listed, it’s available. When stock reaches zero, the listing is removed. We don’t take backorders for In Stock items, if you want that exact spec rebuilt, you’d order it as a Build Your Own.
In Stock wheels are typically priced lower than the equivalent custom build, since the production cost has already been absorbed. Each listing shows its full specification and price.
What’s included with every PBAW wheel
Regardless of which lane you order through, every wheel comes with:
- The completed steering wheel built to spec, finished, and quality checked
- Optional electronics when you order an LED display or heated function, the relevant components are integrated during build
- A protective transport case for safe shipping
When buttons, paddles, and airbags are included
By default, your existing airbag, paddle shifters, multi-function buttons, and trim pieces transfer from your original wheel during installation. We don’t include replacement airbags or buttons as standard, these are vehicle specific OEM parts that stay with your car.
We will include the required airbag, paddles, and buttons in two situations:
- You’re upgrading from an older wheel to a newer model wheel. For example, swapping a pre-LCI wheel for an LCI Facelift design where the original components aren’t compatible. The required parts are sourced and supplied with your build.
- You explicitly request them. If you’d prefer brand new components rather than transferring your originals, let us know when ordering and we’ll quote and supply them with the wheel.

Heated function, what to know
Many modern vehicles come with a heated steering wheel from the factory. We can retain this functionality on most builds for an additional £149.
When heated function is available
- Your vehicle was originally equipped with a factory heated wheel
- The heating element and wiring are intact and functional
- Your vehicle make and model is supported (most BMW, Mercedes AMG, Audi, Land Rover, and Range Rover models from 2015+ are supported)
When heated function isn’t available
- Your vehicle wasn’t originally heated, we cannot retrofit heating to a non heated vehicle
- The heating circuit in your existing wheel is damaged or non functional
- Your specific model isn’t on our supported list, contact us before ordering if you’re unsure
If you’re not sure whether your wheel is heated, check your vehicle’s spec sheet or look for a heating button on the dashboard or steering wheel itself.
Compatibility, making sure your wheel fits
Every PBAW wheel is built around your vehicle’s existing wheel core and electronics. This means:
- Your airbag transfers across. Same fit, no replacement needed.
- Paddle shifters reuse your originals. If you have factory paddles, they bolt onto the new wheel.
- Multi-function buttons stay yours. Volume, cruise control, voice activation, all your original buttons reattach.
Before ordering, confirm:
- Your vehicle make, model, and year
- Whether your wheel is heated (if you want heating retained)
- Whether you have multi-function buttons or paddle shifters
Most of this is shown in our product configurator, where you’ll select your specific vehicle from our compatibility list. If your vehicle isn’t listed, contact us before ordering — we add support for new vehicle platforms regularly and may be able to support you.
Installation
PBAW wheels are designed to be installed by a qualified specialist. We don't fit wheels ourselves and we don't maintain a list of recommended installers.
What's involved
Installation typically takes 1 to 2 hours and involves:
- Disconnecting the battery and waiting for the airbag system to discharge
- Removing the original wheel from the steering column
- Transferring the airbag, multi-function buttons, and paddle shifters to the new wheel
- Connecting the new wheel and reinstalling
- Checking for fault codes
For wheels with LED displays or added heating, additional wiring connections are made during installation. Installation should be carried out by a qualified auto specialist familiar with airbag-equipped vehicles. We recommend sourcing a fitter with experience in aftermarket modifications and steering wheel work specifically. For step-by-step guidance, see our installation guides. Shipping
We ship worldwide from the UK.
- UK: Tracked next day delivery once your wheel is built
- Europe: 3 to 5 working days
- Rest of world: 5 to 10 working days, depending on destination
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your destination. International orders may be subject to import duties and taxes, these are the customer’s responsibility and aren’t included in the order total.
Returns and cancellations
Build Your Own and Made to Order
Because these wheels are built to your specification, they cannot be returned or cancelled once production has started. We’ll always confirm your spec in writing before manufacturing begins, giving you a window to make changes or cancel without charge.
If your wheel arrives damaged or doesn’t match your confirmed spec, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we’ll resolve it.
In Stock
In Stock wheels can be returned within 14 days of delivery, provided they’re unused, undamaged, and in the original packaging. The customer is responsible for return shipping. A refund is issued within 5 working days of receiving the returned wheel.
